Saina Newal was born to Harvill Singh Newal and Usha Rani Newal. Her father has a PhD. She has a degree in Agriculture and her mother is a former state badminton player. Both parents were national badminton champions.
Saina spent her childhood in Haryana until her father’s job transfer forced her and her family to move to Hyderabad.
