Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, his latest news came under fire from the party known as the BJP early Wednesday for his comments disparaging Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The ruling BJP asserted that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, 53, has a “dangerous and creepy obsession with successful and self-made women” and accused Mr Gandhi of insulting her, going so far as to reach a “new low”. Mr Rahul Gandhi’s latest comments or news made at the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh are what sparked the uproar. Aiming at the BJP, Mr Gandhi criticize the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ function at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya recently. The chief Congressman assertes that no members of the OBC, Dalit people, or indigenous communities. Who make up 73% of the nation’s population were present at the lavish consecration ceremony, which was graced by a plethora of Bollywood stars and millionaires.

The BJP’s Karataka regional unit released a press release saying, “Frustrated by constant rejections by Indians, Rahul Gandhi has sunk to a new low of demeaning India’s pride Aishwarya Rai.” “A fourth-generation dynast, with zero achievements, now resorts to slurs against Aishwarya Rai, who has brought more glory to India than Rahul Gandhi’s entire family.”

The BJP released video footage of Mr Gandhi referencing the star in a number of his talks. Additionally, it criticised Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, questioning him about his silence following Mr Gandhi’s insulting of a “fellow Kannadiga.” 

“As your boss continues to insult a fellow Kannadiga, will you uphold your professed Kannada pride and speak out against such disrespect, or will you remain silent to safeguard your CM chair?” the BJP asked Mr Siddaramaiah?  

Mr Gandhi’s remarks were also condemned by singer Sona Mohapatra who termed them “demeaning” and criticised the practice of politicians exploiting women for political gain. 

 “What’s with politicians demeaning women in their speeches to get some brownie points in a sexist landscape? Dear Rahul Gandhi, sure someone has demeaned your mother (Sonia Gandhi), and sister (Priyanka Gandhi) similarly in the past, and irrespective you ought to know better. Also, Aishwarya Rai dances beautifully,” the singer posted on X.
